            Setting the output current for the PCO-6131 and PCO-6141

            The output current for the PCO-6131 and PCO-6141 can be set by adjusting the internal Current Set pot or by applying an external voltage to the high-impedance Current Setpoint input (pin 4 of connector J1). The choice is made by moving a shunt (push-on jumper) between two positions on connector J3.


            To use the internal pot, jumper pins 1 and 2 of connector J3. This causes the Current Set pot to be driven by the internal +5 V supply.

            To use an external voltage, jumper pins 2 and 3 of connector J3. This causes the Current Set pot to be driven by the external voltage. The maximum voltage is +20 V.

            With either configuration, the pot is still in the circuit. That means it can be used to "scale" an external voltage, thus allowing common control voltages (such as 0 V to +5 V or 0 V to +10 V) to be used.

            For continuous (CW) operation, pull the Enable input (pin 10) and the Gate input (pin 8) high. (Note: You can use pin 12, the +5 V Monitor, for the logic high source as it has a pullup resistor to the +5 V supply.)
